Queen Sirikit Centre for Breast Cancer Foundation
The current statistics show that Breast cancer is the number one cause of death among Thai women. During the life of Thai women, 1 in 10 people have a chance of breast cancer. Thai women die of breast cancer an average of 12 per day, more than half of breast cancer patients in Thailand. It is also found that men are at risk for breast cancer.
Current causes of breast cancer are not known. Early detection and treatment gives the patient a chance.
To further help with breast cancer in Thailand we created the Pink Park Village.
‘Pink Park’ is a purpose built care home which will be open to patients from all over Thailand. It will not only support the poorest patients, it will also help hospitals nationally by relieving the queue for acute beds. So often patients cannot be discharged because they have no carers and their ‘home’ is the floor of a slum.
Pink Park Village
End-stage patients often face a state of hopelessness and suffering. Body and mind This is especially true for underprivileged and depressed patients.
Nursing homes and end-of-life care facilities were created as a shelter for those patients. By providing the best patient care from the medical team.
And the nurses are ready to serve with care and reach the mind of the patient. They offer patients a high quality of life to the end.
There are many underprivileged patients in the province. We allow them to be treated in Bangkok with chemotherapy and radiation. It takes several weeks and it is a difficult period for the patient because of the weak body. These patients lack the funds to afford these treatments.
It is used for accommodation during treatment. It provides shelter to those patients as well as providing both physical and psychological care to them during treatment.
